I authored curriculum for MobyMax’s Math 2.0 Skill Builder, contributing to the redesign of the company’s flagship K–8 math product. My work focused on creating clear instructional and assessment items built on strong visuals that aligned to Common Core standards and supported adaptive learning pathways.

What I Built

Math 2.0 Skill Builder delivers targeted practice through thousands of standards‑aligned problems. I authored content across multiple grade levels, designing problem flows, visual scaffolds, and feedback that supported conceptual understanding and procedural fluency.

  • Developed curriculum across grades 2–9, including geometry, measurement, fractions, algebra, and functions
  • Designed problem types that balanced clarity, rigor, and accessibility
  • Created visual scaffolds to support conceptual reasoning and reduce cognitive load
  • Wrote feedback that guided learners through misconceptions and next steps
  • Collaborated with designers and developers to ensure UI/UX consistency across problem templates

My Role

  • Authored standards‑aligned instructional and assessment items for Math 2.0
  • Structured curricular sequences and problem progressions within assigned standards
  • Designed visual representations for complex concepts (area, volume, number lines, geometric relations)
  • Wrote step‑by‑step feedback to support learner understanding
  • Collaborated with the math team to refine problem templates and improve usability

Curriculum Authored

I authored content across a wide range of standards, including:

  • 2.5 Comparing Measurements
  • 2.15 Arrays
  • 2.16 Equal Partitions
  • 2.20 Geometry
  • 3.10 Multiplication Methods
  • 3.11 Division with 100
  • 3.13 Time
  • 3.14 Multiplication and Division in Context
  • 3.17 Compound Shapes
  • 3.19 Fractional Number Lines
  • 3.20 Comparing Fractions
  • 4.20 Measurement Conversions
  • 7.20 Scale Drawings
  • 7.21 Circles
  • 7.22 Angles
  • 7.23 Triangles
  • 7.31 Measures of Center and Spread
  • 8.3 Rational Numbers
  • 8.9 Linear Functions
  • 8.15 Comparing Linear Relationships
  • 8.25 Angle and Side Relations
  • 9th‑grade algebra topics

Sample Problems & Feedback

Below are representative examples of the problem types that I authored, showing how visual scaffolds, clear prompts, and targeted feedback support learner understanding.

For this strand, I defined the scope and structure of the foundational skills behind radius, diameter, and circumference, the first measurements of circles that students encounter in Grade 7 geometry. I defined the conceptual targets, constraints, and specifications for problem types that introduce each term, clarify their relationships, and build spatial understanding without prematurely invoking formulas or π.

My work included planning the sequence of instruction for the strand, identifying common misconceptions, and designing problem types that give students a firm base in precise vocabulary, visual reasoning, and the connections between these measurements and perimeter concepts from earlier grades. I authored exemplar problem sets that emphasize clarity, accurate spatial interpretation, and readiness for subsequent strands on circumference and area.
